Therapist – Counsellor or Social Worker

Key responsibilities
- Enabling all clients to facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth and the optimal development of personal resources through counselling
- Assisting clients to work towards their personal goals and gain greater insight into their lives through counselling
- Liaising with Vision Counselling and Psychology, community organisations and clients
- Maintaining high quality client plans, case notes and client records
- Referring clients
Qualifications and experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a counselling, psychology or social worker role in a private or community organisation
- Works with individuals and couples
- Must possess ABN
- Strong communication skills – verbal, non-verbal and written
- Ability to build rapport quickly, effectively and genuinely
- Ability to self-manage
- Accurate record keeping ability
- Knowledge of community resources and strong networking skills
- Member of professional association
- Work within Vision ‘s Purpose, Values and Code of Conduct
- A passion for and belief in the counselling profession
- Professional presentation
- Current National Police Clearance
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current NDIS Screening Check or able to attain
- Current Insurance – Professional Indemnity $10million/Public Liability$10million
Desirable
- Experience working with different age groups
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- Experience working in the disability industry
Salary and benefits
The successful candidate will be a self-employed sub-contractor who will be remunerated on a per session basis. Rate will be determined on experience and session type.
